There is so much negative publicity that surrounds us regarding the youth of America, that often it seems as though the world is telling us that there is no hope for them.  With the sin and immoralities that we find plastered all over our televisions, magazines, and the music industry, it seems as though there is little hope for our children to escape the snares that the Devil has set for them.  We can however be encouraged as we read the nineteenth chapter of 1 Kings, to find that Elijah too felt that way at one point.  He also found himself surrounded by sin and disobedience toward God, so much that he felt as though he must have been the only servant of God that remained.  It wasn%u2019t long after that God informed him that there were seven thousand other mighty men and women in the land who were just as faithful.  One of which was a young man by the name of Elisha, whom God was preparing to fulfill the ministry of Elijah.  

We must be careful not to find ourselves in that same mindset that Elijah found himself to be in.  He found himself so focussed on the 850 false prophets of Baal that he lost sight of the fact that God was raising an army around him.  In the midst of the Devil%u2019s lies and deceptions, I take courage in the fact that there is a generation on the rise who isn%u2019t satisfied with just knowing about God.  They are discontent with empty religion and fables, but are hungry to have an intimate relationship with the creator of the universe.  All they need is a true man or woman of God to pass by their way, and they would be willing to leave everything else behind.  Lets make a resolution in 2011 that we will be that person in their lives!
